This project marked the first phase of a full wrap-around deck renovation. The client had a two-story deck that they wanted completely redone, but after reviewing how the space was used, we realized that one side of the house saw little to no activity and didn't justify being rebuilt.

To maximize the value and features of the new design, we agreed to eliminate the deck along that unused side. Before we could remove it, however, we needed to convert the sliding glass door on that side into a window. We tackled this part first—taking advantage of the existing deck as a work platform, before moving on to the larger renovation.
